Our wedding ceremony and reception were both held at the Barn at the Meadows in Orrville, OH. Our wedding was on a Sunday afternoon so we wanted our reception to be laid back, fun and overall a celebration of our marriage.
I kept the decorations relatively simple. The barn is such a pretty decoration in itself that I really didn’t have to do much else. The venue already had the twinkle lights set up and I primarily just decorated the tables; the cake table, the card and gift table, the bridal party table and all of the tables our guests sat at. We rented vintage china place settings from the venue. I loved how unique each of them were and how they added to the table decor.
The arbor behind Troy and I in this picture is the arbor we used during our ceremony. It was great to have a dual use for it and I love how much it added to the overall decor.
My maid of honor (my sister) gave such a sweet speech. Troy’s best man also gave a really great toast. We are so thankful for both of them and the significant roles they have played in our lives. It meant so much to both of us to have them stand beside us on such a special day in our lives.
For our first dance, Troy and I danced to Forever Like That by Ben Rector. It was a relatively easy decision to make, Troy and I both liked the song and felt like it was a good first dance song.
It was so special to be able to dance with my dad at our reception. We danced to Unforgettable by Nat King Cole. He created a playlist of songs for me to choose from and had a reason behind each one he choose. Not only was it incredibly thoughtful of my dad to put the playlist together but it was so fun listening to each song and determining what we liked about each song.
I love this picture of a few of my nieces and nephews dancing at our reception. In my unbiased opinion, they’re pretty adorable. 🙂
I love that our photographer captured this photo of my parents dancing. Aren’t they the cutest?!
My sister-in-law was so sweet and made all of our wedding cupcakes and cake! They were so delicious and I seriously can’t thank her (and everyone else who helped) enough. Unfortunately, the only taste of cake I had on our wedding day was during the cake cutting because #weddings. But, I’m looking forward to eating the frozen cake that was saved for us on our first anniversary, which is actually only two months away, crazy!
What a great day! Our wedding was everything I had hoped it would be and more. It was a great day celebrating our marriage with our family and friends. We are so grateful for everyone that celebrated with us.
